A Cuban and Spanish actress, Ana Celia de Armas Caso was born on 30 April 1988. In 2006, she played a leading role in the romantic drama Una rosa de Francia. In 2007, she moved to Madrid, Spain, where she starred in the popular teen drama El Internado for six seasons.
Upon moving to Los Angeles, de Armas was cast in the psychological thriller Knock Knock (2015), the comedy-crime film War Dogs (2016), and the sports biopic Hands of Stone (2016). Her breakthrough role was as a holographic AI projection in Blade Runner 2049 (2017). As Marta Cabrera in Knives Out (2019), de Armas was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical and won the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 2021, she played Bond girl Paloma in No Time to Die, and in 2022, she starred in Deep Water, a psychological thriller.
A native of Santa Cruz del Norte, Ana Celia de Armas Caso was born on 30 April 1988 in Havana, Cuba. Her maternal grandparents immigrated to Cuba from Spain. During his career, Ramón worked as a bank manager, teacher, school principal, and deputy mayor of a town. Previously, he studied philosophy at a Soviet university. Her mother Ana worked for the Ministry of Education’s human resources department. In 2020, Cuban police questioned De Armas regarding his criticism of Decree 349 and his connections to artists under government surveillance. He has one older brother, Javier, a New York-based photographer.
