Viola Davis is an actress and producer from the United States. She is the only African-American to receive the Triple Crown of acting, which includes an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Tony Awards.
Viola Davis was born in St. Matthews, South Carolina, on August 11, 1965. Originally from Logan, she was raised by her parents, Mae Alice and Dan Davis. The Singleton Plantation was the home of her grandmother when she was born. In addition to being a maid, factory worker, and homemaker, her father trained horses. Having four sisters and a brother, she is the second youngest of six children. She and her older siblings were moved to Central Falls, Rhode Island, by her parents soon after she was born, leaving her younger siblings with their grandparents.
