Australia vs Denmark live Streaming: On Wednesday, Australia and Denmark play at the Al Janoub Stadium in the final round of Group D fixtures. Qualification to the last 16 remains a possibility for both teams.
The Al Janoub Stadium saw Graham Arnold’s men claim a 1-0 victory over Tunisia last Saturday, putting them back on track to reach the knockout stage for the first time since 2006.
Mitchell Duke scored in the 23rd minute to put the North Africans to the sword four days after they were thrashed 4-1 by world champions France.
While Denmark had a successful UEFA qualification campaign, in which they scored the most points and finished with the best defensive record, their Qatar campaign has been disappointing.
In their opening group match on November 22, Kasper Hjulmand’s side drew goalless with Tunisia, before losing 2-1 to France four days later.
Even though they are on the verge of early elimination, a win on Wednesday and favourable results in the other group match could secure a fourth knockout-stage berth for the Danes.
This requires Denmark to end a five-game World Cup winless streak, but they are confident they will succeed against an Australian team they are unbeaten in three of their four encounters, claiming one draw and two wins, including a 3-2 victory in their first meeting in February 2007.
In their last meeting, Christian Eriksen and Mile Jedinak scored for both sides in Group C of the FIFA World Cup four years ago.
A slender 1-0 victory at Ruimsig Stadium was Australia’s only victory back in June 2010, when Josh Kennedy netted the only goal in the 71st minute to hand the Socceroos the win.
