The PMJAY Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a national public health insurance fund launched by the Government of India to provide free health insurance coverage for low-income earners in the country. The scheme, also known as Ayushman Bharat National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS), is a key part of India’s National Health Policy. In this article, we will discuss the Ayushman Bharat Yojana application procedure and eligibility criteria.

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana was introduced in September 2018, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The National Health Authority was established to administer the program. The scheme is funded jointly by the central and state governments and aims to provide healthcare services to around 500 million people.

The primary objective of the Ayushman card is to grant families access to healthcare services and offer assistance for daycare procedures, including pre-existing illnesses. The scheme covers nearly 1,350 medical packages at both public and private network hospitals across India. By presenting the ABHA card at registered hospitals, beneficiaries can avail free health benefits and treatments for various illnesses and diseases.
