The Bihar Diesel Subsidy Scheme is here to help farmers in Bihar with their farming needs. The government is giving farmers a subsidy on diesel fuel, and they’ve made some changes to this scheme in 2023.
Before, farmers in Bihar were getting a subsidy of Rs 40 per liter of diesel. Now, the government has increased it to Rs 50 per liter. This helps farmers save money on fuel for their irrigation pumps.
This scheme is beneficial for all farmers in Bihar. Under this scheme, farmers will receive Rs 400 as a diesel subsidy, which will be divided over four irrigation cycles. This subsidy also applies to maize crops. For other Kharif crops, like pulses, oilseeds, seasonal crops, vegetables, herbs, and aromatic plants, the government will provide a diesel subsidy for irrigation.
Previously, the electricity rate for any work was 96 paise per unit, but the government has now reduced it to 75 paise. This lower rate applies to all types of private and government tube wells.
If you’re a cattle farmer in Bihar and want to benefit from this scheme, you can apply online through the official website. The new rules under this scheme also apply to towns and urban areas. Additionally, the Bihar Public Authority has decided that, in case of a transformer failure, the electricity department will replace it within 48 hours instead of the previous 72 hours. The government is going to spend around Rs 200 crore on this scheme.
