Christopher Robert Evans, an American actor, was born on June 13, 1981. In 2000, he began his career with roles in television series such as Opposite Sex. It was in 2005 and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) that he became known as Marvel Comics’ Human Torch after appearing in a number of teen films, including Not Another Teen Movie in 2001. Additionally, Evans appeared in three comic book and graphic novel adaptations: TMNT (2007), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), and Snowpiercer (2013).
In addition to playing Captain America / Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Captain America: Civil War (2016), he also appeared in Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). He became one of the world’s highest-paid actors because of his work on the Marvel series.
In addition to comic book roles, Evans has appeared in the drama Gifted (2017), the mystery film Knives Out (2019), and the television miniseries Defending Jacob (2020). Directing his first film, Before We Go, in which he also produced and starred, he also made his acting debut. Evans received a Drama League Award nomination for his performance in Kenneth Lonergan’s Lobby Hero in 2018.
Originally from Sudbury, Massachusetts, Christopher Robert Evans was born on June 13, 1981. Lisa (née Capuano), his mother, is an artistic director at Concord Youth Theater, and Bob, his father, is a dentist. In 1999, his parents divorced.
Evans has two sisters, Carly and Shanna, and a brother, Scott Evans, who is an actor. As a child, he and his siblings were raised Catholic. In Massachusetts’ 8th congressional district, their uncle, Mike Capuano, represented them. Besides having Irish ancestry, Evans has Italian ancestry through his maternal grandfather.
