An American actor and producer, Joshua Daniel Hartnett was born on July 21, 1978. In 1997, he first gained attention for his role as Michael Fitzgerald in the television crime drama Cracker. The Faculty (1998) and The Virgin Suicides (1999) were teen roles he played after making his feature film debut in 1998 in the slasher Halloween H20: 20 Years Later. In addition to Pearl Harbor and O (all 2001), Hartnett appeared in the romantic comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights (2002), the crime thriller Lucky Number Slevin (2006), and other films.
Early life
Hartnett was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, although some sources give him as being from San Francisco. Having been raised by his father, Daniel Thomas Hartnett, a building manager, and stepmother, Molly, an artist, he is the son of Daniel Thomas Hartnett and Wendy Anne (n├йe Kronstedt). He attended Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School, where he was raised Roman Catholic.
