Olivia Wilde is an American actress and filmmaker. She played Remy “Thirteen” Hadley on the medical-drama television series House, and appeared in the films Tron: Legacy, Cowboys & Aliens, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, and The Lazarus Effect.
Early life
A New York City native, Wilde was born Olivia Jane Cockburn on March 10, 1984. As a child, she spent her summers in Ireland while growing up in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC.
Graduating in 2002 from Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, she attended Georgetown Day School in Washington, DC. During high school, Wilde began using her surname in honor of the writers in her family, many of whom used pen names. She was accepted to Bard College, but deferred enrollment three times to pursue acting. Her next step was to study acting at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin.
